Our Facilities

The Child & Family Development Center is located on Chicago's near west side. This location allows us to:

  • Offer services to families in their homes, their child's daycare, and/or in our center-based playgroup setting
  • Help childcare professionals with children and families in neighborhood programs
  • Provide instructed hands-on learning experiences for those who are studying to become teachers, social workers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists
  • Prepare researchers in the field of early childhood special education, by studying how children grow and learn

Services are offered at the center, in the home, the child's daycare or other locations determined to be the most appropriate setting by the child's IFSP team:

  • Home-based Services: Many times, parents want help in getting through their daily routine and CFDC staff assists you and your child in the home. We can help with feeding, bathing, learning how to dress, or any other areas of home help that you identify.
  • Center-based services: Families may choose to come to our center for classroom or family support activities.
  • Community-based services: If your child regularly attends day care, Head Start, or another community-based activity, we can work with you and your child in those locations. Our goal is to meet the needs of families where it's convenient for them.
